GoodReads Summary:
Jordan Steele’s life began when he was ten. When he was taken from his parents and a house that was never a home. When he met his brothers, the other lost and abandoned boys in his group home. When he learned what friendship and family and love looked like.

Now he’s made good, touring the world with the band he and his brothers formed in that crowded group home. No one but his found family really knows the man under the fame and fortune, the scars he hides behind the rockstar lifestyle. Until he sees her through the windows of the National Ballet, dancing, and suddenly the world doesn’t seem so dark.

Aleksandra Artemov ticks all the ballet boxes. Father a legendary Kirov dancer. Check. Prepping since birth for classical ballet. Check. Compulsive control over the food she eats. Check. Principal dancer at The National Ballet of Canada. Check. But what she craves is freedom.

She craves Jordan.

Everything about him should terrify her. His size, his tattoos, his edge. But he doesn’t. He stirs her very soul. Jordan has nothing but himself to offer her, and he's never been good enough for anyone. Can he figure out how to face his own demons before he loses his light for good?

My Review:
My first response:
I loved this book from start to finish! I read it in one sitting and will now have to impatiently wait for the next book! In the meantime, perhaps I'll read Ms. Cole's other series. Check out my blog for a full review very soon on this book, which is due for release late February.

This book grabbed me from the time I opened the front cover until I closed it at the end. The trauma each of the characters had been through and were still trying to deal with was beyond anything I could imagine dealing with. Ms. Cole made you feel Jordan's panic and despair. You felt Lexi's anger and frustration. And you felt their love and wonder.

The characters are so well written, you want to help them as if they are real. I found myself talking to them at times, and definitely crying with them. The young men in the band, who had been the boys in the group home, were so awesome, too. Not perfect, these are damaged people, too. But written so well to fit into their roles in Jordan's life. Some you want to hug and some you want to slap. And that's life.

This book is going on my favorites list for sure. And I strongly recommend this book to any romance reader who likes to see those caught in the dark find the light. Due to be released on February 28, 2017, in ebook format only, so far.

I give the cover art a 3-star rating. It just doesn't speak to me like the book does. It's a nice cover. But this is a passionate novel and this art just doesn't stand up to what's between the covers

I was provided an eARC of this by Swerve and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I am not being compensated in any way. All opinions are fully my own.
