GoodReads Summary:
The New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin series continues with a new e-novella--from the point of view of Finnegan Lane, the foster brother of Gin Blanco, and a fan favorite of readers of the series.

The fallout from his disastrous “family reunion” in Bitter Bite has left Finn feeling hurt, angry, and depressed. He can barely stand to look at himself in the mirror, much less eat any of the delicious barbecue from Gin’s famed Pork Pit restaurant.

But when the funeral for a slain security guard at his bank turns into a showdown with some nasty underworld giants, Finn knows that he must act in order to protect an innocent family. Finnegan Lane might be the most unwanted man in Ashland these days, but he’s determined to try to make amends for his past mistakes...

My Review:
Being Finnegan Lane can't be easy. His father was practically a saint in so many eyes. His "sister" is the baddest magical bad ass in town. And his main squeeze is her sister and loaded up with a ton of magic of her own. He recently fell for a scam personalized just for him by his long absent mother, who he killed, but not before it was a major disaster for a whole lot of people.

So now he has an opportunity to make up for a little of what happened. He knows he can do it. His father taught him all the tricks. He just doesn't think he's going to come out of it alive.

Grab a copy of this novella to tide you over until the next full length book is out the end of August this year. That would be Unraveled. Then at the end of January 2017, there will be another one, Snared. Jennifer Estep just doesn't write bad books, so you know they'll be great!
