Your Week in Fashion ~ Over50Styling!
This week, I have a lot of purple for you! My favorite color is purple and it seems that I almost never do any purple outfits. So, I decided to do a whole week in purple. I also have some trends for you in this week's outfits. That's something that I don't always pay too much attention to, but these trends are ones I like.

Bright purple and fuchsia make a great combination here. I had the basic purple pieces; the coat and trousers. Then I added the sweater. The tweedy sweater sets the color scheme. To that I added the plaid scarf. From there, I pulled in the accessories such as the earrings, ankle boots, bag, sunglasses and gloves. You certainly won't get lost in the snow in this outfit! YWinF4-1
And this second outfit will see you safely through the snow as well. A lovely figure hugging dress in bright purple says it all. Especially with knee-high boots in a similar tone. Add a bunch of grapes pink and purple stud earrings. A gold and purple bracelet for your wrist. A purple print scarf to block the wind under the purple wool coat. A violet handbag and gloves, and black cats eye sunglasses with violet lenses. Definitely a look to draw all eyes.

A softer, more ladylike look starts with a purple tweed skirt and a brightest purple silky blouse. Top it all with a fuzzy pink cardigan and an ombre scarf with all those tones. Sparkling earrings in tones of pink and purple for your ears. Pretty purple ankle boots with decorative strap detailing around the ankle. Palest pink handbag and pale purple sunnies for fun! Ladylike, but not shy. This look is sure to catch its share of gazes!

This lovely pencil skirt with decorative stitching all over and a front split for walking ease looks wonderful with this high-necked blouse with detail stitching at the neck. This high-neck blouse is currently trendy and quite lovely. The pretty blouses available with the high neck are worth a look or two! In this outfit, I've added ruby toned pumps and a pale pink wool coat that's nice and long to keep winter cold out. Pale purple and green sparkly earrings add color, as does the green handbag and ruby sunnies.
Now, I have three outfits with black denim, which is a big trend right now. I really like the look of black denim.

This first outfit is a pair of blue denim jeans overdyed with black. I used them because of the colors in the tunic top. I liked the echo of the blue sheen. So here I have the black jeans and the tie-dyed tunic tee. Top it with a long purple cardi with pockets and texture detailing around the front opening. Earrings in black and purple keep the color palette going. The purple bag and the palest purple metallic flats pick up the colors from the tunic, too. A trendy and fun look for out and about-ing!
Black jeans and a purple print top with a black and gray heather cocoon cardi. Add a solid purple Pashmina at the neck. Earrings made of multitoned purple stones. Shiny black ankle boots spiff it up. A black and purple bag and gray and purple sunnies complete the look. Another great look for on-the-go!
Black jeans and a purple bandanna print silk blouse. Topped with a purple and violet cardi. Tied with a purple and violet plaid scarf for fun. Earrings in purple, violet and black mix the colors in well, too. A sleek black bag for your shoulder and even sleeker purple suede fringed ankle boots for your feet. Step out confidently in this outfit. It will take you just about anywhere!
So, whether you just like purples, trendy or both, I hope you have fun playing with this week's choices. See you Thursday for The Digital Gallery!

"As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers."

Your Week in Fashion (3)

Hello! Last Tuesday seems like such a long time ago. I guess, because it's been such a busy week. So here's the new week's assortment of styles for you. I've tried to create a flow from the first outfit to the last. I started with beige this week. If you look at it that way, I think you'll see the flow.

This beige dress has straight lines to it and some detailing at the top. I added a multicolored scarf and amber and gold earrings. Beige suede ankle boots with a stacked heel and a multicolored bag finish out the look. YWiF3-1
A faux leather pencil skirt in beige with a cream, beige and black spatter print blouse. Top this with a beige kimono style cardigan sweater. Black stud earrings and a dramatic black ear cuff for fun. Beige suede ankle boots with a belt and tassel. Black clutch with a large bow for flirty fun!

A dress that looks like it was made from a painter's canvas. An ivory fuzzy cardigan sweater to stay warm in. A pretty turquoise scarf with tassels to focus the color and turquoise earrings. Ivory pumps to draw attention to nice legs. And a great black handbag to carry your needs for the day. A flirty and fun look!
A tweedy beige wool pencil skirt and a pale turquoise leather top. Add a fitted cardigan with a low scooped neckline and a ribbon and flower belt. Liven things up with a turquoise and lime ombre scarf. Add some sparkle with pretty gold and turquoise earrings. Greyed turquoise pumps and a beige bag complete the outfit. Ladylike and pretty enough for a special day.
Beige trousers with a tied waist. A teal blouse with a v-neck. Tie a multicolored scarf at the neck and top it with a light teal cardigan. Add sparkly earrings in light teals. Mules in darkest teal and gold and a two-tone beige bag finish this look. Classy and sassy all in one!
Straight legged jeans and an oversized sweater. A pompom-d scarf and drop earrings. Linen colored flats and a bright blue box bag. A standard denim outfit with more than standard good looks. It's not what you're wearing, it's how you're wearing it.
Straight legged jeans. An oversized cowl necked sweater. A white and blue plaid scarf with tassels. Blue and silver earrings. Blue patent ankle strapped flats by Jimmy Choo. And a two-toned beige bag. Another standard? Yes, indeed. Put it all together and you get the fresh, crisp look of blue and white. This is a look that is always good on a day when you're a little bit tired and need a bit of a boost. The look itself will give you that boost, or at least look like it does!
Well, now you've seven more looks to play around with this week. I wonder which ones you'll try and which ones you'll like. See y'all on Thursday with The Digital Gallery!

Your Week in Fashion

Welcome! This week I'm showing you Winter White! Winter white used to be a creamy white that was just off-white from stark white. Now, winter white can be anything from stark white to beige. Rules no longer seem to apply to this, for which I am sad. It seems to be more light neutral rather than winter white these days. But, what can one do? Mix and blend your whites and textures to really make it look well. Otherwise you'll just look like you grabbed the wrong blouse to go with those slacks. YWinF2-1

A long slimming dress in a rib knit with suede ankle boots. Wallet and tote in similar tones and sunnies, of course! Earrings and scarf that bring in more of the palest beige and some gold. Then wrap it all up in creamy white and faux fur. Tone on tone on tone on texture!
A lovely handkerchief hem in stark white with a tailored blouse in stark white. Stark white leather mules and a creamy white tote. Knit gloves with silver accents and sunnies with black patterning. Lovely gold drop earrings and a faux fur collared moto style white leather jacket. A sophisticated white look with a retro feel to it.
A pencil skirt and a scoop neck long sleeved tee. Next is a long, fuzzy cardigan in a sparkling white. Ankle boots in white and palest gray and a bag in a pale grayed white. Sparkling crystal drop earrings and a white and pale gray scarf accent around the neckline. Wrap up the striped white and gray coat and pop on the knit hat with its fur pom pom.
Well tailored white leggings and a white cropped sleeveless turtleneck give the appearance of a jumpsuit under this vintage Chanel dress coat. Wear it open or closed. Add the striped scarf to help coordinate the gray and beige neutrals in the outfit. Pale gray and polka dot pumps and a champagne toned bag. Beige gloves with fur cuffs go well with the creamy ivory coat. And the white and gold feather earrings top it all off!
White skinnies and a white chiffon blouse topped by a long creamy white faux fur vest. The coat is over-long and all that creamy white wool wraps with just one button. The hat is creamy white knit with a faux fur pom pom on top. All the accents are a lovely beige tone. The tied pumps and two tone bag. The tone-on-tone scarf and the rose gold earrings as well. And don't forget the oversized gorilla key chain!
White slim cut trousers with a loose fitting white sweater top in a chunky horizontal ribbed knit. I added a white scarf with a black design and a touch of pink in it. So I chose pinky blush pumps and a pinky beige bag. The earrings are rose gold and pink and brown stones. Wrap it all up in a wonderful faux fur coat.

No one said that winter white had to be ALL white! ZAP it with lipstick RED and it really pops! White blouse, slacks and cardigan in lovely flowing fabrics. So classy. Add drop earrings with small red stones. Pumps in blush and white with RED heels and grab a RED patent handbag! Cover up with a RED wrap cape coat and RED knit hat with a dyed fur pom pom. Wow! It sounds like a really special look!

Hope you enjoy playing with the Winter White ideas here. Work with what's in your closet and see just how white your winter can be! See you all on Thursday for The Digital Gallery.

This is the first edition of The Digital Gallery on Blue Cat Review. I hope you enjoy the presentation. What I have for you today are pieces all done by me. They are all digital collage done on Polyvore using elements found there. Polyvore is a digital collage program, a cut and paste program basically. It does allow you to do a bit more than just cut and paste, but it is nothing like Photoshop or the more advanced art programs.
