Blue Violet
Another way to use purple in home decor. The rug uses both blue and purple, but the purple has a decided blue tone to it. With the oyster color background in the rug, I chose to go with a whitewashed chest for a side piece. Normally, I would match up my woods. The chair grounded the purples as the major color along with the rug. Then, I simply brought in items of decor in various shades of blue and violet to keep the colors flowing. With this decor, I would have medium toned wooden floors with a soft sheen, not a high gloss. I would do the walls in the soft oyster tone and the wood work in white or cool off-gray.
