Growing up, my mother always decorated our bathroom in pink. So, I'm a little bit partial to pink bathrooms, though not ones saturated in the color. I am a big fan of subway tiling for walls and black and white for floors. Brushed nickel is a great finish, too. What does that leave you? Well, that leaves ME a blank canvas in my bathroom! The tiles only go halfway up the wall and the upper half is painted. I can keep it white or paint it to coordinate or accent whatever color palette I choose. If I keep it white, I can change my bathroom color in the blink of an eye. All it takes is a change of the shower curtain, towels and bath mat. I also change out the various decorative dispensers around on the counter top and shelves. But by using clear and white for some of those, I can cut down on transition time!
You see, I'm a frustrated furniture mover. I love to be able to move the furniture around in the living room, but with the room we have, there just isn't too much I can do to change the arrangement. Not in the bedrooms, either. Not at this point anyway. So, with the bathroom being changeable, I can change at least one room in my house when the mood strikes. I have a nice deep linen closet in my bathroom and am quite organized in there. On a rainy day, I can put a sunny yellow in my bathroom. In snowy February, I can have spring in my bathroom! It's fun!
